Capacity Building
Talent is at the heart of Egypt’s development and it is important to continue to invest in and build a sustainable pool of skilled people, as well nurturing home-grown talent in a global market place.
Capacity building is a central part of ITIDA’s role and a number of programs have been set-up with a focus on developing the skills of people – from students thinking of joining the industry to managers already in the industry.
Initiatives that have been created included EduEgypt which started in 2007 and produced 3,700 students in one semester. This program selects students from all disciplines and provides them with education to acquire soft skills, language abilities and other business skills during their third and fourth years at college. Currently, there are around 10,000 students in 35 faculties enrolled in the third phase of the program.
The Advanced Management and Professional Training Program aims to provide multinationals and local IT and BPO companies in Egypt with high quality, industry relevant and cost-effective managerial training. The Program is due to be launched in 2010 and will be developed in partnership with world-renowned service and training providers
The RITI Advanced Management Program "RAMP"focuses on building the capacity of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through developing their human resources to enable them to compete in the international arena. The program is directed towards 240 first-line managers who seek greater opportunities in the managerial career, responsible for direct supervision of the work of operational staff, and responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a group of employees.
ITIDA also develops programs to build the capabilities of Egypt’s IT companies. Developed and delivered in cooperation with an international consortium led by IT services firm Atos Origin, the Grow IT Enterprise Capacity Building Program is designed to increase the international competitiveness of 100 leading Egyptian IT companies. The companies have been selected and they will benefit from consulting services to help them develop comprehensive best practices that will underpin their success in export markets.
